Detail in Jekerstraat, originally uploaded by Dia Positive.

This is another fine example of Amsterdamse School, red bricks and an ornament of concrete. The architects wanted people to feel like kings and queens. After work they would go back to their houses that looked like castles from the outside. Inside the halls are spacious, the kitchens very small, so people wouldn’t eat there. Eating in the kitchen was not supposed to be sophisticated.
