Two weeks under ground 1, originally uploaded by Dia Positive.

Last Spring I was touring with Melanie in Germany. My cat Midas aka Mickey was taken care of by my friend Hannie. She took him home but he was very very unhappy on the second floor of Hannie’s lovely home. Every night he would start making a mess, running on her wooden floors, meeowing loudly, scratching at the door. (Midas was traumatized as a young cat where for two years he was locked up due to a nasty Siamese that was living in the same house, this is how he ended up in my house, that has a garden where he can roam freely). After having endured his meeowing for two weeks Hannie decided that he would be better off in his own house where she would come and feed him daily so she brought him back.
Already soon, he would not come to see her, she would call out his name but no sign.

When I came back, he also didn’t come. I hung up papers with his photo and put them all around the block.
After two days my neigbor came and said she heard a cat.
It turned out he was in the crawlspace under the house next door to hers.
The firebrigade came to rescue him.
We, him and me, were so happy!

He has never left my garden again.

This photo was taken just after.
